About Paul

Cedar Grow Box is Paul Cahala's workshop in Milwaukee, WI, serving the Milwaukee area — "Milwaukee's Finest" home & garden. Paul builds cedar planter boxes by hand, made to order — raised planters in 16″, 3 ft, and 4 ft, plus custom sizes — and sells custom work and pine picnic tables alongside the planters. Finished pieces are in the Gallery. The bench also turns out laser-engraved gifts and walnut coasters.

Paul also builds in public: he livestreams his builds on YouTube at @CedarGrowBox, so customers can watch their own planter being built before they pick it up.

Pickup is local in Milwaukee, and orders of two or more pieces get free local delivery anywhere in the Milwaukee area.

The shop is growing, too. Paul was invited to join the West Allis woodworkers club — orientation is November 4 — and for the holiday season he is adding custom laser-engraved home decor, made to ship. Asked who else has a say in where Cedar Grow Box goes, Paul's answer was simple: "It's all for little Cedar."

Beyond the standard lineup, Paul builds to fit the spot — like the porch planters he built around a customer's posts, shown fresh in cedar on the home page and painted to match the house here.
